Uni Module: Game Design 1

This was my first design module in university and we had to create a complete conversion mod for one of the template projects my lecturers gave us. I chose to use the flappy bird template and turned it into an arcade style hellish heavy metal rhythm game. The player fly's through hell as a demon collecting souls, which spawn on beats of the song to gain the best score. Maintaining streak will increase points earnt as well as increase the intensity of the music.

My idea was based on the mechanics of metal rhythm shooter Metal: Hellsinger, a game I really admire for its unification of gameplay and player experience. In Hellsinger the player shoots on beat to increase their damage output as well the intensity of the music. I learnt a lot making this project particularly how music / audio can be made dynamic and tied to the interactivity of play to unify the player experience.
